There is good skin, and than there is great skin. Very often the difference between the two comes down to enhancing your daily skincare routine with extra infusions of energy and nutrients. An easy way to add in these enhancements is by including masks into your regimen. Masque Essentiel has a high concentration of essential oils and plant extracts: thyme, rosemary, lavender, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil and avocado oil. These ingredients create a healthy and energy-rich environment for the skin cells, bathing the skin in moisture and creating an amazing radiant glow. Its distinctive aroma is deeply relaxing, and the cooling and soothing effects of camphor increase circulation to provide a boost in oxygen levels.
Masque Essential is an ideal at-home treatment in between facials. Apply a thin layer to the face, neck, and lips, one to two times per week. I like to suggest to my clients that they apply the mask and find a quiet place, to just relax with it on for about 15 – 20 minutes. This will allow your skin to have maximum absorption of all these beneficial oils. When it comes to removing the mask, make sure to remove it with wet cotton pads after at least. Masque Essential is recommended for most skin types, especially dry, dehydrated, and rosacea/sensitive skin. Those with oily or acneic skin should avoid this mask as it is high in essential oils.
If you choose to add Masque Essentiel to your weekly routine, you can easily give yourself an at-home facial. Just begin with cleansing the face, follow that with exfoliation, either Gommage Grain or Gommage Biologique. Once you have finished exfoliating the skin, dry it off, and apply Masque Essentiel. This at home treatment enhances and prolongs the benefits of our world renowned Guinot facials!
Fun Fact: Did you know that Gwyneth Paltrow has been using Guinot’s Masque Essential for years? The health conscious actress reaches for this mask on days when she needs an extra boost of radiance!

I currently use Skinceuticals Sunscreen SPF 30. However, after mohtns of usage, I noticed that my face was paler and lighter than my neck & chest due to daily sunscreen use. I then began using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20 on top of the Skinceuticals sunscreen to help add a hint of color. (Note, I do not use foundation of any kind.) By using both the sunscreen & tinted moisturizer with SPF 20, am I reducing the effectiveness of the Skinceuticals sunscreen or is this ok? Thanks!
That is a very good tip especially to those new to the blogosphere.
