For the best results, hair should be about 1/4 inch long (roughly the length of a grain of rice). This usually requires 2 to 3 weeks of growth after your last shave. If the hair is too short, the wax won’t be able to grip it; if it is too long, we can trim it to the ideal length for you.
While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, any discomfort is typically brief and subsides quickly. Our technicians use high-quality wax and specialized techniques to minimize pull on the skin. Over time, as you wax regularly, the hair follicles weaken, making subsequent treatments much more comfortable.
To maintain smooth results and ensure the hair is caught in the correct growth cycle, we recommend booking your appointments every 4 to 6 weeks. Consistency is key to achieving thinner, finer hair regrowth.
If you are taking Accutane, you must be off the medication for at least six months before waxing, as it significantly thins the skin. For topical treatments like Retin-A, Renova, or AHAs, you should discontinue use on the area being waxed for at least 7 days prior to your appointment to avoid skin sensitivity or lifting.
A Bikini Wax removes hair along the “panty line”—the sides and the top. A Brazilian Wax removes all hair from the front to the back, though you may choose to leave a small “landing strip” or triangle in the front if preferred.
Yes, you can still receive a waxing treatment (including a Brazilian) during your cycle, provided you use a tampon. However, please be aware that your skin may be more sensitive to pain during the few days before and during your period.
Gently exfoliate the area 24 to 48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help lift trapped hairs. Avoid applying heavy lotions or oils on the day of your service, as they can interfere with the wax’s ability to adhere to the hair.
For the first 24 to 48 hours after your wax, avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, such as heavy workouts or saunas. You should also avoid hot baths, tanning beds, and direct sun exposure, as your skin will be more sensitive to heat and bacteria.
Starting 48 hours after your wax, we recommend gently exfoliating the area 2 to 3 times a week and applying a specialized ingrown hair serum. This keeps the follicles clear and helps new, finer hairs break through the surface of the skin easily.
